Melasma

Melasma is a common form of pigmentation that appears as symmetrical patches of brown or grey-brown discolouration, most often on the cheeks, forehead, upper lip, chin, and nose. It develops when the skin produces excess melanin, usually in response to a combination of hormones, sun exposure, heat, and genetic predisposition.
